Fine-wale corduroy balloon pants

Description

A house piece, continuing the jaja Balloon Pants line. The leg is cut on a curve, pleated deeply at the waist and drawn in at the hem, so the fabric stacks vertically down the leg and holds air inside the shape rather than following it. A mid-low rise keeps the whole thing relaxed.

The corduroy is cut to a very high wale count — the cords are fine and densely set, which gives the surface the softness of chenille and takes away the visual weight that ordinary corduroy carries. The pile is full and close, with a soft natural sheen across it. A special wash leaves a faint, natural creasing along the seams, and four-way stretch keeps the hand soft while the cloth holds its line.
