Canvas German army trainers

Description
The German Army Trainer began as an indoor training shoe for the Bundeswehr in the 1970s, and it has stayed in the wardrobe for the same reasons it was designed: low, long, quiet, easy to put on.

This one keeps the original last and takes the panelling apart — curved seams redraw the upper, so the outline still reads as a GAT while the lines across it do not. The collar is gathered by hand over elastic, closing around the ankle without gripping. Inside, a sheepskin lining and a sheepskin footbed. A raised wrapped edge runs the length of the sole, adding depth where this shoe is usually flat.

Underneath is a custom rubber sole, 1.2 cm, light and non-slip, with the tread cut in jaja’s own geometric pattern — the house shapes carried through to the one part of the shoe nobody is meant to see.

Store in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from sharp objects.
Keep leather out of direct sunlight and rain. If it does get wet, blot gently with a soft, light-colored cloth to absorb the moisture.

Please note

odour: These shoes are made with quality leather and adhesives that meet environmental standards, and are sealed in their box for transit. A faint smell of leather and adhesive is normal on opening; leave them in a ventilated place for one to two days and it will clear.

colour transfer: Dark leather linings are dyed after tanning, and natural leather holds dye imperfectly. Ongoing friction at the heel may cause slight colour transfer.
