Oversized wool-blend scarf
Description
Drawn from the nineties, when one large accessory in a good material was enough to carry an outfit built from plain clothes — a single point of weight that holds everything else in place. Scarves then were soft and unfussy, kept to neutral colours, worn for the calm they brought rather than for contrast.
Knitted in a plain single jersey from fine Australian wool and cashmere, the yarn is full in the hand and soft against the skin. The simple structure is what gives it the drape: at this width it falls in long, soft folds rather than sitting stiff on the shoulder. Wide enough to wear as a wrap, long enough to loop twice — it takes whatever shape the day asks for.
